TRYP by Wyndham to Make Debut in Melbourne

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific selected to manage TRYP by Wyndham Carlton Melbourne as the brand’s expansion continues in Australia


MELBOURNE, VICTORIA (November, 2019 – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor and a leading provider of hotel management services with approximately 9,200 hotels worldwide, has revealed plans to launch TRYP by Wyndham, its urban lifestyle brand, in Melbourne.


TRYP by Wyndham Carlton Melbourne is a brand new 173-room hotel being developed by Manors Gate Group Pty Ltd and set to open in March 2021. Perfectly positioned in thriving Carlton, this contemporary hotel will be just five minutes’ walk from the vibrant restaurants and cafés of Lygon Street, and directly opposite the University of Melbourne.


Carlton is a lively inner-city suburb of Melbourne, home to historic 19th Century buildings and garden squares and famous for the Lygon Street restaurant strip, affectionately known as “Little Italy”. Within this stylish neighbourhood, TRYP by Wyndham will enable guests to experience Melbourne like an insider, uncovering the city’s best independent boutiques, cool coffee shops and cultural hotspots.

Upon opening in March 2021, TRYP by Wyndham Carlton Melbourne will feature an eye-catching exterior design and sleek, art-inspired interiors. Hotel facilities will include a lively café-style restaurant, a rooftop bar, a modern fitness centre, communal work areas, meeting rooms and a business zone.


TRYP by Wyndham Carlton Melbourne will be managed by Resort Management by Wyndham Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Wyndham Destinations which currently oversees 63 properties across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Europe.

The new Melbourne hotel forms part of a strategic expansion of the TRYP by Wyndham brand in Australia. This is the fifth location announced in the country, following TRYP by Wyndham Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, which is already open, and three additional properties in the pipeline: TRYP by Wyndham North Lakes and TRYP by Wyndham Southport in Queensland, and TRYP by Wyndham Pulteney Street Adelaide in South Australia.
