Ramada Resort Coffs Harbour Joins the Move against Single Use Plastic

Coffs Harbour, New South Wales (18 July 2018) – Ramada Resort by Wyndham Coffs Harbour has signed up for the Plastic Free July campaign in an effort to promote environmental awareness among staff, resort guests and its timeshare owners, and help alleviate the damaging effects of single-use plastics.

The Plastic Free July Foundation’s mission is to build a global movement that dramatically reduces plastic use and improves recycling. Over two million people from 159 countries have signed up for the Plastic Free July challenge, reducing their consumption of single-use plastics in July and beyond.

As part of the Wyndham Green program, which encourages all Wyndham Destinations resorts globally to help improve the environment and support local communities, Ramada Coffs Harbour has started to adopt the use of recyclable materials and help educate guests on this nationwide campaign.

Some of the resort’s plastic free initiatives include replacing plastic cups with glasses beside the water cooler, ensuring staff bring reusable water bottles, coffee cups and plastic free lunches to work, and sharing facts about plastic with guests around the resort.

“Plastic has a devastating impact on our oceans and marine animals such as sea birds and turtles. People travel vast distances to experience the beauty of Coffs Harbour’s beaches and marine life. Here at Ramada Coffs Harbour, we want to do our part to help protect our oceans for generations to come,” said Resort Manager Natalie Smith.

“We are proud to support a campaign that raises awareness to minimise plastic use and improve the community’s recycling habits. One of our goals is to encourage everyone, from resort staff to our guests and our timeshare club owners, to contribute to improve the environment,” she added.

“Aside from reducing the use of plastics at the resort, the team is also hoping to take part in the Beach Walk and Clean Up event, run by the local council, to wrap up the campaign.”

Located on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Ramada Coffs Harbour is positioned amongst picturesque natural surrounds and must-see attractions, including the famed Big Banana, winter whale watching, golden beaches, excellent shopping precincts and award-winning restaurants.

Featuring one, two and three-bedroom apartments plus a three-bedroom Presidential Suite, Ramada Coffs Harbour offers a range of accommodation choices to hotel guests and timeshare club members of the Worldmark South Pacific Club, a vacation club with close to 60,000 vacation owners and more than 32 club resorts.
