Cyclone Warning for Fiji

Update: Monday April 9, 2018

Dear Owners

The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a second tropical cyclone warning for Fiji.

The system, which is expected to hit between midday and midnight Tuesday, has the potential to produce heavy rainfall and strong winds, which could exacerbate the flooding and damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie.

WorldMark Owner Services are getting in touch with all Owners who are due to check-in to Wyndham Resort Denarau Island between today, April 9 and Friday April 13. Any Owners with immediate concerns should contact Owner Services on the numbers listed below.

The resort is well-prepared with two back-up generators and has stocked up on water, food and fuel. The only foreseen challenge may be reduced staffing as some Wyndham Denarau Island team members may have difficulty accessing the resort, depending on the severity of the weather event.

Resort Management will keep all Owners staying at the resort informed of the situation with daily updates.

As per the warnings issued on the Australian Government smart traveller website:

Those already in Fiji should avoid travel in low-lying areas and regions that are flooded. The heavy rainfall and winds may cause disruptions to flights to and from Nadi Airport and road closures in the Western and Northern Division. See the Fiji Meteorological Service and check with your airline or tour operator.
